Pasa Harau Art and Music
Festival will take the word of the language Minangkabau . ' Pasa ' means
'market' which also can mean a crowd. Hopefully, this festival can become a
market of art and culture , in which a variety of potential possessed by the
community Harau Valley and Limapuluhkota can be displayed . Potential is not
only made up the appearance of the forms of performing arts , but also
various folk games , traditional sports , snacks and local specialties , craft
objects , as well as performances of some traditional ceremonies .
Part Of The Performance
Pasa Harau Art and Culture chose Talempong, Randai, Debus, and Sijobang for
guest attendance. Talempong a traditional musical ensemble consisting of
talempong Pacik, drums, and sikatuntuang. Sikatuntuang the form of wood, like a
mortar and then dihentak by two logs (alu). Pounding pestle in the mortar and
then produce percussive sounds that eventually accompanied by talempong and
drum. In the past, Talempong played when the rice harvest in the fields.
Randai is a combination of drama, dance, and music. Art is played in groups
by forming legaran or circle, then stepped slowly become while telling a story
(dialogue) alternately. This art is very popular in Minangkabau society, almost
every area on the Minangkabau have Randai group.
Sijobang is a musical art that flourished in District Limapuluh, Koto and Payakumbuh. An art that hummed
Anggun Nan Tungga tale story. Sijobang is accompanied by musical instruments
lyre, harp Pikumbuah people call it. In addition, also known by the name
Basijobang Sijontiak or Basijontiak. The only difference is the instrument
used, Basijontiak only use instruments matchbox-flick flicked to the floor.
Debus! How could a sharp weapon similar shiny machetes,

scratch? That's the scenes that we can see in the art of Debus. Every region in
Minangkabau usually has this art, one Dabuih Tuah Sakato now led by Mr. Reman
